No more frolicking along in the grass naked with nothing to worry about but the little bit of bramble up ahead. Unfortunately for the people that live on this hunk of junk planet, the sun has disappeared. Or maybe I should say under the world of Arx. Either way, you'll begin your journey with the comforting taste of morning breath and feel of a cold stone cell floor in a dark and dirty dungeon on the world of Arx. How many stories in the past have begun this way? Why these characters always have to lose their memories, I don't know. So the beginning premise isn't the most original in the world. I woke up and didn't know who or where I was. It isn't an in-depth RPG by a lot of standards, but I had some fun with it and you should too, provided you have the computer that can run it well. Those people and any others looking for a first person dungeon crawler type of RPG that has more focus and direction, JoWood and Arkane's Arx Fatalis could be for you. Too much to do and not enough direction for some. But to a lot of people, this was just too much to handle. It's vast and open-ended world was really pretty amazing to behold. First person RPGs got a big revival earlier this year with the much praised Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
